After all, if I’m blathering on about compassion for characters in the books, what about compassion for readers? Where might I take them? And once there, what then? These questions were uppermost in my mind as I set to writing The Crippled God: the sense of wanting to leave the readers in a good place (and still, Grin had the nerve to call my stiff nihilistic, not that he ever read it).

Edit: uhm, that should be ‘stuff.’ My stiff is never nihilistic.
